Love Mommy
Taylek's 3ed birthday is today but we celebrated it yesterday. We woke him up and told him we had a present for him and he was so excited, he asked if he had an astro-boy cake too. I assured him that the cake would come later. We made him brush his teeth before coming down stairs to see his presents. Taylek was so excited to see his new ride-on Thomas the train engine. (the truth is he never has seen Thomas the cartoons, but he knew who he is and has been talking about him all month because all his friends have Thomas toys.) I also got him a couple Thomas movies. So for the next 3 hours he road around in circles on Thomas and watched his new movies. He was on cloud nine. The only thing that actually got him off the little blue train was that he road it so long the battery needed to be recharged. His birthday present was a hit!!!
I than had to venture to make a cake. I tried this new recipe I found on line.... hallelula white cake. It turned out terrable. it was more like bread than cake and it was so so yucky!! but I proceeded to make the frosting because time was short before company came and I needed to have something. well the frosting never peaked.. I beated it for 45 min and it said it would peak in 7 minutes, it should have been fluffy and light but instead it was runny and ugly. This was going to be my clouds. Well failure and all I tried to frost the ugly and nasty cake. I did and put my cute little astro-boy fondant on it. IT WAS TERRIBLE.... I cried a little and than decided to pull out the old Betty Crocker, I doctored it up a little with a recipe I got from a neighbor and made some good ol' cream cheese frosting. frosted the cake and it was ready just in time for the company.... not what I planned but it was good enough. Taylek had some good friends come over and he loved the attention. (Talia Cooper, Carter & Abby Hoffman, Ryan Kirkland, and Bastian Sellers) It was a fun day for him and us. He was so excited to blow out the candle, we re-lit it 6 or 7 times for him to keep blowing it out. Before he went to bed daddy showed him that Thomas had a light on him so riding around in the dark room is fun. Once again it was a chore to get him off the little train to go to bed. We love that little boy. Fun day!
